THE LOVE EXISTED

...DOES IT STILL?

The atmosphere in the throne room shifted, a ripple of murmurs breaking through the silence before dissolving beneath the sharp pulse of anger rising in my chest.

There she was. Striding forward with measured grace, she approached the Queen, whose lips curved into a faint, almost inviting smile. My thoughts churned. Why was she here? Revulsion tightened my throat-or was it something else? Anger? Pain, perhaps, simmering just beneath the surface?

She looked almost the same as she had seven years ago, the last time we'd stood face-to-face-when she severed the fragile thread of the promises we had once held as unbreakable. Her midnight-black hair was now drawn into a severe ponytail, her beauty undiminished, but the girl I had known was gone. This wasn't the mischievous teenager who used to dash through the castle halls with reckless abandon, laughing as though time itself couldn't catch her. No, this was a woman transformed.

Her presence was a storm, her aura coiled with the kind of power that only destruction could create. The weight of it pressed against the air, suffocating and unyielding. I supposed this was what happened when you killed enough people to lose track of the count.

The Divine Assassin, they called her now. A name whispered in fear, laden with the sins of the countless lives she had extinguished. They said the ghosts of her victims sought to haunt her, clawing at the edges of her soul-but if that were true, it was clear she had learned to silence them. Her every breath seemed to darken the world around her, leaving nothing untouched.

"I wish I had never met you!" Deepika's voice echoed across the classroom, each word a dagger to my heart. "Excellent! At least we finally agree on something!" I fired back, even as a tear betrayed the storm of emotions within me. With those final, stinging words, Deepika stormed out, leaving a heavy silence in her wake. The classroom felt like a graveyard, and I stood there, rooted to the spot, desperately wishing I could chase after her and demand the truth. Maybe letting her go was the right choice. Perhaps this is meant to be my unfinished love story, a tale of what-ifs and almosts... ✨ No Deepika. This can't be his bike. Not Arjun's. But I couldn't deny what I saw-the familiar brown Royal Enfield, now twisted and crushed. My heart hammered as I circled around, hoping, praying it wasn't true, until my gaze landed on the number plate: TN56 0809. Arjun's bike. Deepika! Stop imagining things! Arjun would be fine! I felt the world shift, the noise around me blurring into a single, deafening hum. Ambulance and police sirens echoed, and a stranger's voice broke through: "Two boys. Spot dead. College students." I clutched my chest, gasping for air as reality slammed into me. "Arjun..." I whispered, barely holding myself together. Tears stung my face as I sank beside the wreck. "No, Please, No!" My voice cracked as the weight of regret settled in, suffocating me. ✨ Ex-Crush: More than just a crush, but a little less than love. ✨ Arjun and Deepika were hopelessly in love-only they never realized it. Will they find their way to each other, or will their love story remain forever unfinished? ✨ Join Arjun and Deepika on a journey back to those dreamy college days-days where every moment felt eternal, love was unspoken yet ever present, where friendship bloomed like wildflowers, offering a sanctuary from the harsh winds of reality. Come, wander with them through the corridors of college days, where the echoes of laughter still linger.

‶Get out of my sight before I do something I'll regret!″ the eldest shouted, his voice laced with fury. ‶I will. But I'm taking her with me,″ his younger brother replied, his expression unwavering. ‶Don't you dare come near her! She won't end up like you!″ the eldest retorted, his eyes ablaze with anger. Amidst their yelling match, a young girl sat under the table, her eyes overflowing with tears and head throbbing uncontrollably. Her family had always been an unconventional one, but that day marked its transition from unconventional to unhappy. ************************* Miles apart, a young boy looked at the star marred sky with twinkling eyes. As the shooting star made its appearance, he closed his eyes and prayed for the one thing he craved for the most. 'A happy family.' ‶What did you wish for?″ a manly voice interrupted him. ‶Death.″
