A short story based on and inspired by Nightwish's song Ghost River"The Dark and Deep Journey of Nightwish's "Ghost River":The song "Ghost River" by the Finnish band Nightwish is a work rich in metaphor and symbolism, exploring themes of internal struggle, overcoming and the inevitability of death. The lyrics begin by describing a long and winding journey down a deep and wild river, a metaphor for life full of challenges and surprises. The idea of leaving a mark on every island you see suggests the importance of living intensely and leaving a legacy. The figure of the 'child of rape' is a powerful and disturbing image, perhaps representing lost innocence and the struggle against deep traumas. The song alternates between moments of hope and despair, reflecting the duality of life. The repetition of the refrain 'He will go down he will drown drown, deeper down' reinforces the idea of an inevitable descent, possibly into death or a state of deep despair. The mention of the 'riverbed ghost town' suggests a place of stagnation and death, where time seems to stand still.
The song also touches on the idea of facing fears and traumas, represented by figures such as 'the troll beneath the bridge' and 'the desert-scape'. These images evoke obstacles and challenges that we all face in our lives."AUTHOR UNKNOWN AND ALL RIGHTS RESERVED.
