During the Surgery
A surgeon will dilate the pupils of your eyes, followed by anesthesia to numb the surgical region. In some cases, a mild sedative may be given to help you relax throughout the surgery. Once everything gets normal and relaxed, the surgeon will start the actual operation, which involves removing the clouded lens and replacing it with an intraocular lens explicitly chosen for your eye condition. At Clear Vision Clinic, we mostly perform surgeries using advanced laser technique or an ultrasound probe.
After the Surgery
You may expect blurriness for some time after the surgery, which may go away on its own. With every passing day, you will feel like your eyesight is improving. Multiple check-ups may be required to monitor the eyes until it gets recovered completely, carefully. Wear an eye patch to prevent inflammation or infection. A few days after the surgery, you can resume your normal activities.
Doctors may also ask you to wear eyeglasses until your vision gets stabilized. Some of the crucial do's and don'ts to improve your cataract surgery recovery include:
Avoid heavy lifting and strenuous exercises for a few weeks.
Do not drive until you get recovered completely.
Avoid stepping out in the dust, wind, and polluted environment.
Clean and vacuum your home before the surgery so that you arrive at a healthy, clean house.
Do not rub your eyes.
Avoid swimming for a few weeks, including hot tubs and sauna.
Avoid bending over immediately to prevent putting pressure on the eyes.
Avoid sneezing, coughing, or vomiting vigorously.
Be cautious while moving around to prevent bumps in the walls, doors, or other hard surfaces
Strictly follow your doctor's instructions to ensure a safe and healthy recovery.
