Three years ago Ash found out who she was.
It's taken all this time for her to realize she's stuck like this for a while. To add to the pressure, she's expected to be perfect. Because she was chosen to lead them. And after all that time, the pressure builds.
As the bombs are thrown and the lives are shattered, she makes a sacrifice. But she doesn't leave without telling her side of the story.
So she leaves a letter on the kitchen counter. And thus, everything that really happened unfolds through the pages.

Outside the walls
War had just broke out between the states of America. Two states remained. Yet only one wins. One state had won by peace and one state had won by destruction. The day of the fight, the state of distinction launched a nuke. Yet they had under estimated the power the nuke had. It destroyed both states and it had seemed that no one remained. 3 years latter and a little city had grown out of the destruction. Emma was a resident of that city.
