Mike Wheeler was happy. Once. Before he lost everything. Now he's an empty shell of a man, walking around with no purpose or motivation. He wants nothing more than to disappear like his best friend did, all those years ago. He knows there's no hope for his friend, Will Byers, to be alive after 6 years of him being missing. It's impossible, or so he thought. When a takedown of a huge human trafficking ring in California takes place, police discover that Will is alive. Mike is overjoyed but soon finds that his friend isn't the same. Mike wants to help Will get back on his feet, to recover. But can they face their demons together, or will they drift apart, this time forever?
