In the latest Miraculous episode, Ladybug (Bug Noire) confronts Adrien about the death of his father, Gabriel Agreste. When Ladybug travels to London to tell Adrien and Kagami, she tells Adrien that his father has passed away, but she lies to him about the circumstances of Gabriel's death.

She tells Adrien that Monarch (Gabriel) had taken his father and Tomoe Tsurugi captive and forced them to create the Alliance rings. According to Ladybug, Gabriel then sacrificed himself by swapping his life with Monarch's to save Nathalie and herself. She claims that this event marked the end of Monarch's threat, but she hides the truth: that Gabriel was actually the supervillain himself.
