Almost, But Never Ours
What if, in another life, in another time, love was enough? They loved each other in silence, in the spaces between longing and letting go. Their hearts spoke a language only they understood-through stolen glances, fingertips brushing for a second too long, and the words they never had the courage to say. But fate was cruel. The world kept pulling them apart, forcing them into lives where they could never fully belong to each other. One stayed, carrying the weight of a love that never got its ending. The other became a memory, a ghost of what could have been. Yet, love like theirs never truly fades. It lingers, in dreams, in echoes of laughter, in the quiet ache of knowing-somewhere, somehow, they were almost meant to be.
A funny word called Love
I ship OtaYuri both romantically and platonically, and I don't really have a preference, but seeing as very few fanfics give importance to platonic love, I thought that I would write one that did. If there's one take away from Yuri on Ice, it's that love is a valuable and precious thing that takes place in many forms. This story is off of one of my headcanons that Yuri and Otabek are both asexual and aromantic, and their friendship goes from being very small to being a qpr (a queer/quasi platonic relationship, which is like dating, except without any romantic aspects, and in this case, without sexual aspects as well). I'm aroace. I like romance novels. As you can imagine, there isn't much representation for that in such a genre, so I created my own. This is the story of Katie (our aroace queen) as she finds a person she actually wants to spend forever with. There aren't enough stories that show the love that can be given even when aromantic. However this is also the story of Jordan, and you will hear from both characters throughout the story. In the original document, the speaker is denoted by different colored text. Here, bold = Jordan, and not bold = Katie. I have 125 pages written so far, and I decided to share it because young me would have benefited from reading something like this. Some of the stuff we will tackle: depression from being in the Navy, discovering sexuality and the very real feelings that come with that, gender stuff, long-distance struggles, QPRs, the struggles of intimacy when asexual... etc. If there is a tag that you don't think belongs, it is because it hasn't come up in the story yet.
