The year 2080 on Earth was not some glorious technologically advanced utopia, but a hellscape in the final stage of a fifty-year long religious world war. Two massive states formed from the ashes of thousands of destroyed countries, cities, and faiths. The Theocracy of the Lord Rimuru, Rimuruland for short, spanned across all of Asia and Europe, along with multiple strongholds in Oceania and Africa, a monoreligious state of over 210 million all worshipping the one God Rimuru, unwavering in their faith in the omnipotent deity. Rivaling Rimuruland is the Coalition of Antirimuruism, also known as Midsuraland. Over four thousand minor religions, combined to be around 170 million people, gathered in the Americas and parts of Africa gathered as one to combat the Rimuruists, who wanted to convert the world to their faith. Although under one banner, there was constant infighting among the thousands of antirimuruist faiths. The antirimuruists were ruled by a council of nine leaders of the nine most prominent Antirimuruist religions, including Terranism, worship of the ghost Terrance, and Aism, worship of the letter A, also the biggest religion in Midsuraland. Perhaps this is a fairy tale, perhaps a story of brutal war, but the only moral of the story is that Rimuru is God.
