Most high school graduates with higher education plans attend a public or private university for two to four years. A select few attend institutions such as Cadet Prep, an elite private boarding school that "aims to shape the nation's finest young men into their best, brightest, most educated selves." For parents, Cadet Prep's sky-high fees are plenty worthwhile. After all, sending the bratty young man in your life to live in the woods for four years is a parent's idea of paradise.
Many guys dream of furthering their education solely to pursue the women who attend universities. For them, all-male Cadet Prep is akin to Hell on Earth. Soccer-playing Diego falls into this camp. For shy-guy Rhodes, however, being stuck in the middle of the woods with college-age men for a semester at a time is nothing short of Heaven itself.

Victore Academy boarding school is a lot of things. To the outside world, it's the heaven of schools. For some students, it's an experience they'll never forget. For others, it's the place to start their careers. And maybe for a few, it's the peak of their lives and really as good as it's going to get for them. And for me... well, I'll need a bit more than this to talk about that. But before you step in, here's a few things that everyone makes note of: 1. The students have secrets. And money. It's hard to tell what more of, honestly. 2. Don't get a room on the West Side of the girl's dorms. The birds around that private property lake house downside from campus don't stop chirping at 5AM. It's unpleasant, to say the least. 3. Avoid Mr. Labadee's classroom at all costs outside of lessons, especially past fifth period. It's better off if you're left in the dark with this one. 4. That asshole from Spain that terrorizes all the young freshmen is not hot. However, girls do make note of the fact that he works out post seventh period and right before first, near the track field. 5. The Victor's Tournament happens every year for all the senior year students. It's a pretty big deal. 6. A few years ago in San Fransokyo, a new boarding school for gifted kids called William L. Lauder prep arrived. It became very popular and prestigious rather quickly and teens all around the world were desperate to get in. Hiro Hamada had heard of this school, but luckily for him he didn't need to go to school. He didn't want to go to school anymore either, he'd much rather sit in his room all day with Baymax, working on a new invention. Miguel Rivera had also heard of this school but he, on the other hand, was vying to get in. Unfortunately, his chances were slim. He was just a poor kid from Mexico, after all, how would he ever get in? So both boys are equally surprised when they both get scholarships to the school fully paid. They end up as roommates and start off on bad terms. Eventually though, they put their differences aside when they realize that the school may not be what it seems and learn to like each other. In more ways than one.

Our path into the college baseball recruiting experience started much like most other families in youth baseball: We knew nothing. What originally started out as an activity to play on the weekends with our sons and their friends, grew over the years into a lifestyle never expected. 19 years later, two of my sons have been successfully recruited to play college baseball, and my oldest has just completed his 3rd season of professional baseball.
