Xiao Xingchen is a hardworking man in a world of party goers and trouble makers. He grew up under the care of his ailing grandmother after his parents disappeared without a trace when he was fifteen. He realized he was gay back when he was in college. His crush broke his heart when he put him aside calling him a frivolity when the boyfriend's family faced a crisis. Xiao Xingchen picked up the pieces of his broken heart and immersed himself in work. Eight years later his path crosses with his ex again but this time Xiao Xingchen's heart beats for another, loving who might just be a big mistake.

Xue Yang, CEO of Y-Tech and assistant to the corporate lawyer, Hanguangjun, has faced abuse, starvation, and manipulation. He has been on both sides of the poverty line and the law. Born a genius with a photographic memory, there's little he can't do. He identifies himself as pansexual and abhors emotional entanglement. That's till he calls Xiao Xingchen for an interview. But Xiao Xingchen would rather believe in the accusations against him than him and he doesn't think he can explain his sins away. However when Xiao Xingchen digs deeper he realizes that judging someone of Xue Yang's calibre isn't easy and the layers are hard to peel.
