Maxine Hart has been living by herself ever since she was sixteen. Her minimum wage job and small monthly checks from her uncle are barely enough for her to get by in her studio apartment. Delivering drugs and selling herself are common things she does when her other two incomes just aren't enough. She can find herself in dangerous situations quite often, and she still has another year of high school to get through.

Lorelei O'Neil is a new teacher at Pinecrest High. She just got out of a toxic relationship and is looking for a new start, to move on, but a run in with one of her soon-to-be students leaves her feeling conflicted and frustrated. The two have to decide how to go about their new relationship, while trying to survive through the school year, acting like everything is normal. Will Lorelei move on, and forget her toxic ex all together? Will Max be able to move past her sketchy and dangerous lifestyle?

This story may contain sexual assault and suicidal thoughts. I'll try to post trigger warnings in the chapters that contain these. The age gap between the main characters will be 36 and 18. If this makes you uncomfortable, then this story isn't for you.
