Sixteen-years-old, Ivy Montgomery-Shepherd, has been through a lot of trauma over the years and when her little step sister, Zola, asks her about her life before her siblings were born. Memories flooded her mind as she remembered the people she gained, the people she loved, the people she trusted, the people who had her back no matter what happened, but mostly she remembered the people she lost. As she tells her story to her younger three siblings, she realises how badly impacted she was by her childhood and how she doesn't want her siblings to have the same. So many broken promises, broken hearts, broken people. As Ivy suffers from trust issues and anxiety, it broke her when her Dad couldn't keep his last promise to her, in more ways than she thought. Will she ever get the perfect life or will it always have its major problems?

Numbly, she followed the redhead back to their car, staring straight ahead as the reality of what the doctor said set in. Tears began to rush down her face as a broken sob slipped from her lips. When Meredith finds out that she can't carry children, she and Addison explore other options to expand their family.

DISCLAIMER: I wrote this a decent chunk of time ago which means that the grammar, punctuation and overall writing is lacking in this story. It's not totally horrendous but just know that this is no longer my writing style and I have since become more fluent and educated. She is five and very bright. This story follows this little girl as she handles being thrown into unfortunate situations. A collection of 3-6 chapter stories revolving around this family. Addek is not in a relationship. Derek is with Meredith. Addison has not met Jake. Lots of angst, hurt/comfort and you might end up hating me because Mackenzie goes through a lot of very booboo things but for sure some good fluff too.
