In the wrong hands, love can become a torture device.

After her divorce, Melisandre Färber focused on her creation, Gothic Living Magazine. She even co-wrote the biography of the Talons' superstar goaltender, Valerică Cobălescu, with whom she spent much time and haunts her mind.

Valerică is the first Romanian hockey player in the NHG. As the draft's first overall pick, he feels the pressure of proving himself to the world. Once he met Melisandre, he knew she'd change his life for the better. He wanted to become her number-one goalie.

The attraction between the two is burning hot, and their love grows brighter. Valerică doesn't care about their age gap as much as Melisandre, who can't resist his Romanian and goalie charm.

But it's all short-lived, as someone claims ownership over the Talons' #13. His gifts of owl stuffed animals, black lilies, letters, stolen items, and photographs of the couple only prove someone is stalking the couple, threatening Melisandre's life and putting the goaltender in danger.

The threats put the couple at risk while the race for a spot in the playoff is in full swing. With a new girlfriend, a stalker, and a fandom more passionate than a cult as they follow Valerică's every move, the young goaltender is near his breaking point. With such danger in her life, Melisandre tries to hide that her ex-husband is trying to infiltrate her life to spare her goaltender, but is keeping secrets the best thing for them?

Who will have Valerică's heart, and how will Melisandre keep them safe? Her goaltender is everything to her, and in the end, like the Talons and the playoff, they must win.
