The Luck of the Irish [Kayce Dutton]

Ever since she came into this world Nora's life has been nothing short of chaos. When her mother is brutally murdered in their Boston home her father fears for is daughter and only child's safety. Fearing for her life as well he has he staying with his parents, her grandparents. His new plan is for Nora to live in Montana for half the year and come abroad and live with him for the other half of the year. Hoping that this will be the best arrangement so he can see his daughter and hunt down the people that killed his wife. Unfortunately for William Jameson, those people would be a lot harder to find than thought.

Once arriving in Montana, Nora is scared and sad. Her mother is dead, and her father stuck her to live her grandparents that she barely knows. Although they love her she just misses her old family. After, hearing news of Nora's arrival the Dutton family invite her to come over to their ranch to hang out with and play with their children. Most notably their youngest child, their son Kayce.

Upon meeting Nora and Kayce hit it off becoming best friends and she bonds with everyone in the Dutton family. As time passes Kayce and Nora eventually become high school sweethearts. Nora is so focused and driven for her future, whereas Kayce and is so lost and confused that he attempts to drown his sorrows in partying, booze, drugs, and women. Most notably Monica Long, after a one night stand at a party leads to a pregnancy and Nora having to get the truth from Beth and not her boyfriend about what's the hells going on with him.

As a result, Nora leaves Montana with her heart broken and breaking Kayce's in the process vowing to never return. Unfortunately, fate doesn't work that way. Eight years later, Nora is a top profiler and linguist at the FBI in the BAU.
