Optimus is not entirely sure how he managed to convince himself that this was a good idea in the first place, but it most certainly is not, because merging sparks and exchange metal with the leader of the opposing faction is treason, and he should not do it under any circumstances.
(SPOILER, he did, and he is having a whole internal crisis about it because of it).

Twist
(Shattered Glass) Temptest thought she knew Optimus Prime, otherwise known as the false Prime, who stole the matrix of leadership and brought war to their planet. He was insane, sadistic, and obsessive. As a loyal Decepticon and a femme with a vendetta, Temptest knew there was no one she hated more. In another dimension, Optimus Prime, otherwise known as the passionate Autobot leader, discovers a strangle signal that leads his team to a femme who curses his name and wishes him dead. After trying to help her overcome some sort of brainwashing, Optimus realizes that the truth is more complicated than it seems. As the two of them work together, they both face their weaknesses and the many trials thrown at them by an interdimensional threat and some domestic ones. Optimus has a harsh life as the bearer of the matrix and Temptest struggles to be the symbol of freedom she once was. Alongside them, one Megatron works to protect his adopted family while the other tags along, fighting and testing them in hopes he'll find what he lost in his own dimension. The bots imagine that a terrible villain is on the prowl, but struggle to figure out who. They don't look like themselves, and the Autobots don't believe Optimus is really Optimus. That leaves them with only one place to turn to, and the Decepticons there are more willing to take in the former Prime than they are Megatron.
