I have many dreams. This story was based on one of them. At some point, maybe a couple of years ago, I discovered that my dreams fogged the lenses of my waking life. So I stopped trying to remember them and I made a rule: forget your dreams. Now, when they tap my shoulder throughout the day, I say, "No way. The work I need to do here in this moment is what matters." And now I feel better about what I'm doing here, in the waking life, what I NEED to do. My dreams can face me face to face if they're important which is why sometimes, I do remember them, vividly. Otherwise, I say no to dreams; because when I dream I get carried away and if you're a dreamer and you get carried away you never come back.
