Being a teenager was fucking tough! Being a teenager in a world where riots, bomb scares, and checkpoints are part of daily life? Well, Maeve Connor sometimes suspected she might go mental because of it all one day! And her lack of a filter and ill-timed jokes certainly weren't a lot of help in that aspect.

But hell, were their lives supposed to stop just because there was a load of shite going on around them? Of course, fucking not! She was determined to make the most of it. And luckily for her, she had friends who not only shared that idealism, but sometimes made the most... a bit too much even.

Not that she'd trade them in for anything else in the world. Because while their world spiraled and seemed like so many people belonged in the loony bin rather than on the streets and in their communities, she knew she always had her girls (even if they themselves often seemed like it too). Backing her up no matter what life threw at them!

And as she staretd secondary school, well, life decided to throw what was probably the biggest curveball of all... A wee gay English fella!
