Lacey Pearson has never been on an adventure in her life, unless you count tromping through the scant woods behind her house with her sister. How could she go on one, when she lives in a town called Mirstone, in the middle of nowhere in Midwest America?

But one day, a note appears on her desk reading: "Go to Fallcross at once. Travel details enclosed in the envelope. Tell no one, be smart, and be safe. The world depends on you. You must find Undine."

One day of travel later, Lacey finds five other girls waiting as well. Their task? Find and retrieve the shards released from a mysterious meteor crash before Miss Chevious does.
