Light of the Ruby Beetle

Tears seep through her eyelids. Gathering and falling at a quickening rate. The love of her life, dead. Sacrificing himself again and again. Yet this time, he couldn't come back. She had failed, miserably. The disgusting man with too many names won. He devoured his prey. Killed chat, disfiguring his body. Crushing him. the only thing left behind was his hand that held the ring. The only thing she could do was cry. He died to push her out of the way. Just fast enough to spare her life. Yet her legs were still crushed. It was all her fault. She couldn't save him in time. Destruction rang about, the louvre demolished, the Eiffel tower. Collapsed. Again. This time, she holds no hope of saving the leather cladded knight. She grabs the ring, and with the fusion of two gods and a wish on her lips.

The clock stopped ticking.

Only to tick minutes later. Spinning backwards in time, at the cost of a single existence.
