Sympathy for the damned is not often passed out. In fact, it's never passed out. Not when you reach Hell- no, by the time you've lived your wicked life and died unremorseful, it's far too late.

And if you're already in Hell, already beyond saving, why not let loose?

That's Crowley's philosophy. It always has been, from the day of his death to the day he became a crossroads demon. To the day he became *king* of the crossroads demons. Now, he's the king of Hell itself. What more is there to do?
