A passenger ship containing four lab-made mutants and a human girl drifts into the Bermuda Triangle, where the passengers meet ghosts of creatures past and present.

"... an evocative, compelling and intriguing read that will undoubtedly captivate a wide audience."

Maya goes on holiday with her family, sailing across the Atlantic Ocean on a passenger ship. She discovers what looks to be a laboratory, with four glass cages. Three of the cages have an animal inside, but she can't make out what they are. One has a boy. During a violent storm, the ship breaks down; leaving everyone on board trapped. Helicopters come and pick people up whenever there's a break in the thunderstorm. Maya visits the lab before she leaves, hoping that the animals' handlers have left and the drugged animals will wake. A few days later, they try to evacuate everyone who is left. While Maya is looking for her family on the deck, she gets pushed over by someone in the crowd, getting knocked unconscious. Once locked in cages, the animals now roam the ship freely, shifting between animal and human. One of the animals breaks the anchor and the ship drifts into the Bermuda Triangle. Ghosts of creatures and people past and present haunt the ship, trying to get the passengers to drown themselves and join them. One of the boys does. Eventually, someone, who spent far too much money on the boys, comes and takes them. They think the girl is the fourth 'mutant'. What happens if they find out she isn't?
