The Secrets Bleed

Hannah is a seventeen year old who has lived with her grandfather since she was 11. Every summer he takes her with him to a grand fishing competition away from home.

Many teams compete to earn prize money. Hannah's helped them ever since and learned how to fish herself.

This year, she's finally old enough to compete, but an unexpected accident takes her apart from her family. She finds a new team of young, amateur fishers and decides to help them after they rescue her from the accident. And maybe she has more unspoken reasons for staying with them, and for leaving her grandfather's crew.

Soon after joining them, she gets tangled in a horrible web of secrets and lies, where she learns the truths about people she loved and looked up to. It seems this new team is doing more good for her than expected.

She will eventually have to pick a side between who has always been there for her, and the people she's grown to love as family and friends through their ups and downs.

Scheduling and etc:

I plan to publish a new chapter or subchapter every(other?) Monday or Thursday if I'm late. Will probably be a bit messier than that.
I want to keep everything short. Most of this novel will be broken down into very small parts, probably under 800 words. No author notes for now and no prologue because I had no idea how to write that! Pay attention to the top of the chapter, there'll be some parts that might require TW, however I wouldn't consider this a mature story. That's probably all! Thanks for checking this out! Also, my inspo was All on the Line and Wicked Tuna, the two greatest fishing (documentaries, idk) shows. But my original inspo was the Okinawa episode of Saiki K 🤭 bc of Mera's tuna catching job.
