In the last bleak days of the war a young healer who isn't all she appears to be struggles to save as many lives as she can. Hope is on the brink of being lost until she in her darkest moment watches from the ramparts as the Rohirrim charge  the enemy head first. Her hope fragile yet restored. 

On the eve of riding to the black gates to make their final stand against sauron Eomer now a king realizes he may not make it back. When he notices a beautiful young woman making her way through the crowds outside the houses of healing. And only one thing crosses his mind 'if only...' 

A kiss is shared and neither of the two can forget one another. The war ends he must return to Rohan. She goes back to dol Amorth and takes on the title she forsake during the war. Will these two yearning souls met again? And when they do can they come to terms with their changed perceptions in their station? Time may only tell but fate played a part that night.
