Princess Vaella II Targaryen, daughter of Princess Rhaenyra and Prince Daemon Targaryen, was conceived just before the princess' wedding to Ser Laenor Velaryon. Both the good Queen Alicent Hightower and the realm believed Vaella to belong to the Velaryon because of the strong Valyrian features she carries that are true to both of the old houses. She is the eldest of Rhaenyra's children, and certainly the most ill-tempered.

Prince Aemond Targaryen, second son of King Viserys I Targaryen and Queen Alicent Hightower, the king's second wife. Viewed by many in the realm as strikingly handsome but also somewhat intimidating due to his fierce demeanor. Skilled both with the blade and on dragonback.

Vaella and Aemond were the closest of friends, after the incident on Driftmark that cost Aemond his eye, Rhaenyra took her family and Daemon and fled to Dragonstone. Now, ten years later, they've returned to Kings Landing to defend her brother's position as heir to Driftmark. Will they remain enemies as they've now been? Or will they learn to live with it? And maybe learn to love along the way.
