Having enough of the overbearing rules of her Kingdom, Princess Nerissa Moondin of Merthelia goes against the rules of her pod and sets herself on a journey to see the surface world and all life outside of the ocean. Accompanied by her best friends (Ollina and Lyra), the three girls soon realize that there's more to the surface world than meets the eye as they navigate their way through the city of Ninjago.

Everything changes one day when three girls are saved by the Ninja while touring the city, and Lloyd takes a liking to Nerissa. Unbeknownst to him, the woman he's fallen in love with is a mermaid and a princess. Things get more complicated as Nerissa not only tries to keep her identity a secret, but begins to develop feelings for Lloyd as well, something that Merfolk are forbidden from doing, and as time goes one, Nerissa discovers that she may not be who she thought she was.

Here lies a tale of forbidden romance as the two get tied in a complex web of love, desire, hardship, trust, mendacity, and more. 

Disclaimer: This story takes place during the events of Seabound all the way up to Dragons Rising. Aside from that, the Merfolk, Nerissa and her family, Ollina, Lyra, etc. are loosely inspired by Mako Mermaids and H20: Just Add Water, so a lot of things are similar.
