The main themes of the old story are present, but be warned there has been a lot added so I recommend going back through and reading.
When an angel named Castiel finds himself running from a demon in a hopeless frenzy, a hunter named Dean Winchester swoops in and saves him. Little does he know that the hellhound was the least of his problems.
Dean Winchester has been on his own for years, ever since his dad abandoned him and his brother was kidnapped by the devil. He would have never thought he'd come across an angel in his hunting for Lucifer, hell, he didn't even know they were real. Now he must choose between the captivating beauty of his broken angel, Castiel, or succumb to the dangerously alluring Darkness that his brother had given into years before.
A fight between Darkness and Light, and Dean Winchester is stuck right in the middle of it.

During a dangerous case with Sam and Dean something goes wrong and Castiel goes missing, this isn't like the other times Cas has disappeared, this is different, it's strange even for Cas. With Castiel gone Dean doesn't eat or sleep he just drinks and prays wondering if Cas can hear him. Day and night he checks the newspapers and police reports from every city, and county in the US for any sign of the trench coat angel. With no leads things become even more bleaker. Castiel is lost he doesn't know where he is or who he is. He just goes where his feet take him. He never eats or sleeps but he doesn't he have to, he doesn't know why he doesn't eat and it doesn't bother him much cause it would just slow him down. He remembers nothing about Sam or Dean or even himself for that matter, but something is itching at the wall in the back of his head trying to break through, it wants to get out but can't. He gets fragments of things every so often but they are of pain and torture and a redhead he doesn't know the name of. One day a pleasant memory comes through the cracks in his wall he can't place where it came from. The only thing he knows is he needs to find the man with the stunning green eyes.
