Beneath the Silence explores the painful internal struggle of Oliver, a young man caught in the grip of depression and self-doubt. Despite the love of his boyfriend, Eliot, and the support of his friends, Oliver is trapped in a cycle of feeling "not enough." His complicated family relationships, high expectations, and his own harsh inner critic create a constant battle within him. Over the course of thirty chapters, Oliver's journey through these struggles unfolds-sometimes making progress, often regressing-until the end where he remains in the struggle, still holding onto the hope that things might one day get better.
