Heroes. Ever since they showed up, people have gone soft. They're adored, worshipped. Devotion is showered upon them like rain. It's about time someone knocks them off that pedestal they stand on, someone to crush their pillars of faith. Someone like me. A villain. It's perfect. Heroes at Heart
"I've tried telling them I'm only fifteen. That no sane government would force a boy my age to fight crime. 'But Max, you're a superhero! Isn't this what you want?' Actually, no. I just kind of want to get through high school. Then we'll talk about this 'superhero' business." Max Owens is your average high school sophomore. Well, he tries to be, at least. At fifteen, he's got more important things to do than fight the infamous Vinicus Cauldwell. With his single mother having recently lost her job, Max is determined to help his family get back up on its feet. The publicity and pressure that comes with being a superhero would be too much to handle right now. But it's hard to fly under the radar, when you can literally fly. Meanwhile, Vinicus Cauldwell enjoys the power he has as Murkbourne's most feared super-villain. For once, he can sit back and relax without being pestered by the police. That is, until Max arrives. Vinicus isn't happy about having to fight a child, but he can't let Max find out. After all, super-villains can't be "good people"... Can they? We can't all be born heroes. What makes a person a hero? A good hero can be hard to find. A hero is selfless, a genuinely good person and someone gets the undivided attention of all of us and causes change. Someone willing to risk their own life to save another. Well if that's a hero. Then I'm more of a hero then they are. A third generation of ability users. What does it mean to be a hero or a villain. Aren't you ever tired of the same old super hero story? The hero is cool looking with bulging muscles, and always wins. Like, always. Even if the situation is dire and it all seems lost. All the sudden, freaking deus ex machina. And the villain is either some super nerd, or a loser. Do you have any idea how stereotypical that is? Hero=jock/bully. Villain=nerd/loser. But not this time. This is a new story. The Life of a Villain. Part 1: This is a story about Leonardo Sutton a.k.a Knifeslinger, an 18 year old villain out for revenge for his family's death. He goes undercover at Ravenswood Academy where he meets new friends and old friends, and an evil plot that could shake the world. Part 2: Life was finally starting to settle down(ish) in the few days of freedom, but of course normality can't be something for ex-villain Leonardo Sutton.
