I closed my eyes, took a deep breath, then ran. William Carlos Williams once said, "In summer, the song sings itself." I felt trapped but not literally. I felt like I couldn't do anything on my own, couldn't make my own choices. I couldn't live. So I left.I don’t regret it, leaving I mean. I gave myself adventure and freedom –everything I dreamed of. And I didn't even need to go far, I just crossed the border. I headed to Michigan, to my grandparents’ house. They understood what I was going through, they accepted me. They didn't take me back ‘home’. So here’s my story.

Hello and welcome. You can call me Alex. I'm extremely pleased to meet you, if that's the right term to use, since technically we haven't met. Anyway, before you go any further, I'd like to warn you. You're stepping into a dangerous and crazy place...my mind. Yes, these are my letters, written by me, Alex, Society's Creation. Everything you read is true. So therefore my dear friend, I warn you, because even I am scared of myself.
