Most people think that legends begin from birth, but our legend began much, much earlier. Perhaps, when time itself was born.
The one who imprisons me has roiling electric-blue eyes with a strange origin. He hates my guts, but especially despises my fiery golden eyes that arouse him despite the obvious abhorrence he beholds me with.
The one who wishes to imprison me has red eyes that burn with longing for nothing but my unique blood and soul. And what else? He seems to know the me that even I did not know of.
Nonetheless, to change this corrupt kingdom, he and I will have to change the entire narratives of our lives thus far.
Shall we fall into the depths of our inevitable lust for each other or shall we, and our restrained desires, break at the weight of untold secrets and powerful enemies? Only the end and epilogue can tell.

"Well, what do we have 'ere?" A hoarse voice stated above me, making my eyes glaze upward in the direction of the culprit, only to freeze at the icy, crystallized irises of the owner. His hair was stuck on his forehead and the smudged eyeliner created a trace of dark lining on his face, making him look hauntingly. He was frightening and breathtaking at the same time. "A mermaid, aye?" he questioned as his gaze trailed down the length of my body. Grabbing my arms with one hand, he caressed my face gently, his thumb grazing my parted lips before they went below my hair twirling a single piece. I struggled from underneath him when he let the hair graze my breast underneath my blackened hair.
