It never rains, but it pours.
In the deserts of Farghalli, droughts are a blessing. They are broken up only by the Skybreak-- a terrible occurrence of extreme weather that will crush anyone unfortunate enough to be outdoors when it hits. Neoguard is a safe haven- a city built of strong rocks that can hold up against the onslaught.
When Roan and her team return from a scouting mission, they find that Neoguard has been taken over and the majority of its inhabitants slaughtered. With the next Skybreak looming and no hope of recapturing the city, they must make for the Oasis-- a dark and mysterious place that no one has ever returned from. No one, that is, except for Roan and her sister, Ash.
The way ahead is wrought with peril, and the odds of survival are slim, but Roan has no choice-- she must make it. Giving in is not an option. Not when a storm is coming.

Exile: The Book of Ever by JamesCormier
30 parts Complete
Centuries after the Fall, the United States has been wiped away. The crumbling remains of the great American empire are home now only to savage, lawless tribes and packs of ravening Damned-the twisted children of the apocalypse. Most of those few who survived humanity's destruction spend their short lives in a violent struggle for survival. But some light still flickers in the darkness: the Blessed of Bountiful live in seclusion, relying on walls both physical and spiritual to protect them from the Desolation that their world has become. Among them are the Saints, those few men and women born with superhuman abilities that the Blessed see as gifts from God. The violent apostate tribes of the Northeast Kingdom have always been a danger, but up until recently its small size and the vigilance of its people have made Bountiful an unappealing target. As attacks on the community grow harsher and more frequent, however, even the steadfast Blessed are forced to start preparing for the worst. With her home's very existence threatened, seventeen year old Ever Oaks, a Saint with the power to heal, is forced to make a difficult choice, one that may come to define her people's future... Exile was a semi-finalist in Mark Lawrence's Great Self-Published Fantasy Blog-Off (#SPFBO). Fantasy Faction said it was "extremely cool," and Bookish Lifestyle called it "more than just a story, a journey and an experience." When I'm asked about it, I often describe it as "X-Men meets The Walking Dead." In addition to reading it here for free, you can buy Exile in e-book or paperback on Amazon.com.

✨She traded a bracelet for a loaf of bread in a dream... and woke up with the power to survive the end of the world. When college student Julyah Anderson loses her parents in a tragic plane crash, she inherits more than just money and a secluded mountain villa. She also inherits a strange silver bracelet-and a vivid nightmare of the world ending in fire, flood, and ruin. Then she wakes up. And the countdown begins. With only two weeks before global disaster, Julyah liquidates her assets, hoards supplies, and activates the magical heirloom-unleashing a dimensional space where she can store anything, never spoiling, never stolen. As society crumbles and women become rare targets in the new lawless world, she hides away in the mountains... alone. For one year, she survives. Until the day Adrian Blackwood-a cold, haunted ex-agent-crosses her path. In her dream, he saved her. But this time, she saves him. Together, they fight to stay alive through earthquakes, blizzards, and human threats more dangerous than any storm. But as his team begins to see her as their treasure, and Adrian hides a growing obsession behind silent stares... ...Julyah must decide if survival is worth it, if she loses her heart in the process.
