In a world where survival leaves little room for sentiment, Orion has learned to keep her head down and her heart closed. Born into the ruins of a broken world, she grew up knowing the cost of trust and the sharp edge of loss. Once a Firefly, Orion joined for the safety they offered, not their idealism. But now, as whispers of a cure circulate in the shadowed halls of a crumbling hospital, she finds herself caught in something far bigger than she ever wanted to be part of. Ellie, a girl immune to the infection that decimated humanity, arrives as the Fireflies' last hope. But hope is a dangerous thing-it blinds, burns, and demands sacrifices too great to bear. Orion watches from the sidelines, her detachment tested by the weight of the choices being made around her. As the weight of the Fireflies' plans threatens to consume everything, Orion is forced to reckon with the ghosts of her past and the cracks in her own armor. When the hospital falls into chaos, and an unexpected act of defiance changes everything, Orion's carefully constructed detachment begins to waver. The choices she didn't make-and the ones she did-will follow her to Jackson, a settlement daring to rebuild something of the world that's been lost. BUT HOPE HAS PRICE, and survival demands more than anyone should have to give. Orion must navigate the fine line between who she was and who she's becoming, even as the truth about Ellie, the cure, and the world itself comes into sharper focus. In the end, it's not about saving the world-it's about deciding whether it's worth saving at all.

"You have fifty five minutes left," "I'm not going anywhere, I can't allow you to release that virus. Drew let's out a chuckle, "I'm not a murderer," Drew stops smiling for the first time and frowns, "I don't know what bullshit they've been feeding you amateurs about me but I'm not the bad guy," she shakes her head and huffs, "you are the bad guys, not me," "You expect me to believe that," Joel asks rhetorically. Drew smiles and shrugs, "no, but you have forty seven minutes left, I really don't want to kill you," "Then don't and let me bring you in," Drew let's out a laugh, "so they can torture me and lock me up in a metal cell where I'll live like an animal till I die?" "This is my case," "I know Joel, but they'll 'take it from here' the moment you bring me in and you'll never see me again," Joel frowns and realises Drew is right, they will take her away, "don't you deserve it?" Joel asks lifting her eyebrows. Drew smiles and nods slightly, "let's say I do; do you even know what I did?" Joel shakes her head. "What I did Joel; was find out I was the bad guy the whole time," Drew whispers harshly. Joel shakes her head, "you were helping people, bringing them in and..." "And what Joel? Killing them? Imprison them? What do you think they do with all those weapons?" Drew shakes her head, "I won't allow you to take this one; I can't, and I'll kill you if I have to," Joel sighs, "I really can't just abort the mission without a reason," Drew points at the bracelet on her wrist, "break that, they'll be here in ten minutes and you'll have an excuse to aborting the mission," Joel frowns, "a false alarm?" "No, you've been shot," just then Drew pulls the trigger hitting Joel in her chest missing her heart only by inches.
