Cassian Syrota is orphaned on his fourth birthday. He had already had two (now three) foster families. He remains in the orphanage for years, until he is even a young teenager. His friends leave, he has been rejected, and now he is left with a choice. When he finally gets a chance to get a family, will he be willing to risk just losing them again, or will he choose to stay an orphan forever?
His choice is followed by uncontrollable thoughts of murder and suicide. Will he be able to fight the war inside his head, or will his dark side grab him and drag him across the line? From fosters to orphans to criminals and streets, Cassian has to find out what he can do to keep himself...and everyone around him...alive.
One of the only things that makes him want to try to better himself is a desire to live and be loved. From the time he meets a sweet girl his mindset starts changing. He starts reconsidering what he has been doing to both himself and others.
What would you do if you knew that the only people who liked you were gone now? If you could just escape and end all of the struggle and trauma, would you be willing to pull the trigger on yourself... or would you let your desire for death affect others' lives instead?

WATTPAD BOOKS EDITION There are imperfect moments in every life-but sometimes, there are perfect accidents . . . What's the point of pretending nothing has changed when everything has? It's the last summer before college, and Jonas Avery knows he should be excited. Instead, he hides out at home, avoiding his friends, his family, and everything that resembles his old life. Because nothing will be normal again-because of The Accident, when everything started falling apart. Brennan Davis knows she needs to stand up and face her anxiety-the deep, dark, debilitating dread that rules her everyday life. Because what stops her from going out into the world and just living is going to get a whole lot worse. She's leaving for college in the fall, where she'll be confronted with even more to worry about. To get back up sometimes you have to fall down, hard . . . When Jonas crashes into Brennan-in a harmless, albeit embarrassing fender bender-the two teens connect in ways they never expected. As friends, they help each other overcome their biggest falls and faults, and soon discover that while love can't fix everything, it's sometimes a place to start. Sensitive, wry, and unabashedly authentic, The Opposite of Falling Apart isn't about finding perfection in another person or fixing the things we think are broken. Instead, Micah Good has penned an enchantingly honest novel about accepting the very pieces of ourselves that make us unique, whole, and undeniably human.
