Jason had always preferred girls and had never shown interest in the same gender. However, during a conversation with his mother, not knowing how they got on the topic, she insisted that he could not like boys, and while it would have been okay since he didn't like boys, her comment left him feeling spiteful.

When his friend mentioned that his brother needed a date for a Thanksgiving family reunion, Jason unexpectedly offered to be the brother's temporary boyfriend. His friend's brother liked the idea, and feeling rebellious, Jason realized it was too late to take back his offer.

As it turned out, Jason didn't mind the change in gender; his friend's brother had a wonderful personality. Now he just hoped it wouldn't make their friendship awkward.
