Ollie Payton is due to bring death and destruction and wreak havoc on the fabric of the universe. His dad, Charlie, thinks that's a load of shite.

Charlie is DETERMINED that Ollie will live the normal life of a normal teen, no matter how many vague prophecies are made about him, or how many flipping vampires he befriends at magic school. Askalin is Ollie's teacher for PDF (Prophecy, Divination, and Fortunetelling), and he's very good at his job. His species, Draconians, are generally known for being solitary, but Askalin loves to be around people, and teaching occult kids gives him plenty to handle. He manages anything from their coursework to their personal worries. But he's never met a kid quite as powerful as Ollie, and is stunned to find that Ollie stems from an entirely ordinary family. Charlie is about a normal as possible, and yet Ollie's blood is coursing with untold power.

Charlie's attitude to anything involve Ollie is 'just accept whatever weird stuff happens and keep going' - so when he meets Ollie's half-reptilian teacher, he decides to just accept the fact that he thinks the guy is fit as fuck. Askalin finds himself quite taken with the ordinary man who is entirely devoted to his extraordinary son, but isn't sure how on earth to proceed with a 'human courtship ritual'.

Ollie's fate lies in a vague, unusually delivered prophecy, and both Askalin and Charlie are determined to protect Ollie and give him the normal life of a normal teen. But things keep happening to Ollie and his friends, and it's not always possible to keep him safe. Join Charlie and Askalin as they navigate being the caretakers of a very improbable child, and find their way to love along the way.
