"Mateo Hall knows who he is.

At least, he thought he did.

When he was 8, his father abandoned him, his younger brother, and his mother, leaving them alone to fend for themselves.

Ever since, Mateo hasn't had a consistent, positive, male role model in his life to teach him who he is as a young, gay, Black and Hispanic man. Instead, he fell into a dark era where he did anything and everything to please just about everyone.

After years of struggling just to get by, Mateo's mom decided the best thing to do for her and her two sons was to pack everything they owned and move to a new city where their family can start anew.

Here, the now 18-year-old Mateo meets a special group of people, all from different walks of life, who influence Mateo's perspective on life and his relationships.

And this is where Mateo's journey of self-discovery truly begins."
