Death's Apprentice

In a world where the Horseman are not only entities of destruction but also guides for souls, Seonghwa is assigned an unusual task: to train an apprentice in the ways of death. His apprentice, Yujin, is a young woman who has been living in the afterlife for years but has never crossed over because of her refusal to accept her death. Yujin's lingering attachment to her past life makes her an ideal candidate to become a guide for lost souls, but she's defiant and struggles with the concept of moving on.

Seonghwa, with his centuries of experience, must teach Yunjin not just how to usher souls into the afterlife, but also how to find peace with her own fate. As Yujin grows closer to understanding the true meaning of death, a deep, forbidden affection blooms between her and Seonghwa, whose own heart has long been detached from mortal emotions. But their love is complicated: one is bound by fate, the other to his duty.
