'Until' Series No. 1

Amidst the obstacles Laera Dominguez faced in her life, she never lost hope, complacent in her belief that she could overcome anything with the strength of her Almighty Savior, Lord God, Jesus Christ.

Laera learned from past mistakes through her growing faith and relationship with God. She was grateful to her ninth-grade ICT teacher, Mayara Jane Cristobal, for her support during this time.

But who would have thought that while strengthening her faith, she would meet someone? This man, older and professionally successful, was the opposite of her ideal-she usually preferred ruthless, wealthy men.

However, that sudden thing changed everything. This scenario replays constantly in her mind, leaving her delirious. Their moments together, their interactions, even their physical contact, cause her anxiety because of what happened, it was never be the same when she was just a carefree youth, everything about him matters to her right now even small things.

Laera overthinks everything, even common experiences, making her insecure and feeling like the worst person in the world. She gaslights herself, convinced she could never admire someone older, imagining he might already have a girlfriend or fiancée.

Laera reminds herself that she's still a student, not yet successful, and he's older and established. She worries about a potential prior commitment, questioning whether he even wants to settle down at his age. Perhaps those who don't want commitment or family avoid settling down.

Till she realized that the tide was too high for her to swim. For now, she will just focus on her faith, her academics, and herself. She will just wait until the high tide ends. But the biggest question is, Until when the high tide ends?
