Number of Goodbyes

September 1938
Lisa waited for Chaeyoung at the junction with her bike. It was their date, the third one after the second one, after the first one that had left both women flabbergasted. They always thought their hearts were beating oddly peculiar until they realized it was love all along.

June 1st 1939
Lisa stood sheepishly in front of a 16 year - old Park Chaeyoung as they exchanged rings. "I was thinking about moving from here," Lisa added. "Why move?" Chaeyoung asked curiously. "I want to write a new story with you. And a new story means a new place, new adventure, new people"

August 5th 1939
"I will die if anything happens to you," Chaeyoung wailed, her whole body shaking violently. "I will die if they take you away from me," She shook but Lisa held her firmly and strongly. "I will die too, Chaeng. But even in death, I want you always,"
