Unrequited Love - Jikook

It starts in 2014.

Jimin, in his last year of high school had taken a liking to his best friend's little brother-Jeongguk. Jeongguk was two years younger than him, in the same school. They hung out as a group often with Namjoon, Seokjin, Yoongi, Hoseok and Taehyung. Seokjin was Jeongguk's older brother and Jimin's best friend.

Jeongguk never liked Jimin the way Jimin did. He'd push him away, run away from him and always take the chance to call Jimin unattractive. Jimin had grown used to it but still persisted, for three years until he got tired of hearing how Jeongguk thought he was ugly and how Namjoon hyung was his crush.

Year 2015. Jimin made an effort, babying Jeongguk. Treating him as if he owned the world but Jeongguk never replicated. Jeongguk stayed the same though his insults became more personal, trashing the bentos Jimin would cook for him. Jimin got tired of showing his love only for it to be tossed out.

Year 2016-the switch. Jimin gave up, moving on. He strayed away from Jeongguk. He no longer cooked for him, he stopped sitting near him, he stopped talking about Jeongguk as much. He no longer talked about how he wanted Jeongguk to protect him, it was now just "I can protect myself." He missed when Jeongguk would look expectingly at him, when he'd assume the next word out of Jimin's mouth would be something regarding him.
