Description

Elsey Bryan, a young woman from a humble background, steps into the prestigious halls of Ridgeview College, a place brimming with wealth, ambition, and the pressure to belong. When she befriends Andrea, a kind and affluent classmate, Elsey is offered a glimpse into a life of luxury she has always dreamed of. But as she becomes entangled in the trappings of privilege, her desire to fit in spirals into a web of lies and betrayal.

Caught between the expectations of her new world and the sacrifices of her hardworking father, Elsey makes choices that lead to devastating consequences. As she rises on the surface, the weight of her secrets begins to pull her down, culminating in a shocking revelation that threatens to destroy everything she has built.

"The Weight of Lies" is a gripping tale of ambition, deceit, and the price of forsaking truth for the illusion of belonging. In a world where appearances are everything, how far would you go to rewrite your story?

Jesabel is a liar. When her only friend mysteriously disappears, she does what comes naturally. She keeps her truth from the world. Without warning, she is thrown into a web of lies far more dangerous and lethal than anything she could imagine. With an annoyingly charming boy by her side, can she unravel what she refuses to tell - the truth? WHITE LIES HAS BEEN REVISED, EDITED AND REWORKED! Happy late new year, friends! I'd like to take this opportunity to announce that White Lies, a story that has been up and running on Wattpad since 2011, has been re-written and revised for the coming decade. What does this mean? This entails the same characters you know and love, with better flow, better writing, more nuanced character development, more mature content, and entirely different plot lines. Jesabel's character has changed drastically since I last introduced her to the world (nearly NINE years ago! yikes!), and I wanted to make this story a more nuanced and modern take. When I had written White Lies, I had been just 14 years old. And I've done a ton of growing, learning, and unlearning over the years. This means that my characters have grown and developed with me. If you are an old friend and re-reader - welcome, and please enjoy the same old story you love with a brand new take! If you have started along this White Lies journey beginning in December and all throughout January, you might have read a half-edited and half-original version of the story. So please feel free to re-read at your leisure! I won't bite, I promise.

Lani Daniels thought returning to Seaview Bay meant a fresh start. She and Jeremy Briggs had finally found common ground, sharing late-night conversations and rekindling something that had never fully burned out. They were supposed to be moving forward-building something real again. But just as Lani starts to believe in second chances, Leah Walker-the woman responsible for shattering her life six years ago-returns, dragging the past with her. This time, she isn't just spinning lies. She's carrying proof. A little boy named Dillon. A child she claims belongs to Jeremy. And with that single revelation, everything tilts. Jeremy is thrown into turmoil, grappling with the reality of fatherhood and the undeniable pull he still feels toward Lani. But the more time Lani spends around Leah, the more she sees something beneath the polished facade-the manipulation, the careful way Leah spins every conversation, the way she keeps Jeremy close with quiet threats wrapped in sweet words. The deeper Lani looks, the more pieces don't fit. Leah's return isn't just about Dillon. She's here for more. And when buried truths start surfacing-about Leah, about Jeremy's past, about the night that tore everything apart-Lani realizes the battle she's fighting isn't just for the man she loves. It's for the truth. The past isn't done with them yet. And what they never knew... might just ruin them. Are Lani and Jeremy strong enough to survive the truth? Or will this time break them for good?

Jessie White stands out from the crowd. As a Southern woman, she defies the typical expectations for a twenty-four-year-old. While others her age might be in college or embarking on new careers, Jessie's upbringing on a ranch alongside four brothers equipped her with skills many would balk at. She's adept at horseback riding, calving, stall cleaning, and more. Fiercely independent, Jessie refuses to rely on any man, a resolve hardened after heartbreak at the hands of Max Lane, a rancher's son, two years prior. Jessie has resolved to take up bull riding, a skill that appears to be a family legacy. Her lifelong dream has been to ride a bull before an audience, but now, her ambition has shifted to rescuing the White Family Ranch after a substantial portion of their funds vanished and debts began accumulating. Max Lane's family is eager to buy the White Family Ranch, but Jessie refuses to let him take away the one thing that sustains her. Being a beauty bartender owner and a female bull rider makes things challenging. Everyone says she can't do it because she's a woman, but Jessie is determined to prove them all wrong. Initially skeptical, Trace Black doesn't recognize her potential until he witnesses her mount a bull for the first time. Although he may appear arrogant externally, that pales in comparison to his internal complexity. Trace and Jessie are initially oblivious to their chemistry, though it's evident to everyone around them. As Jessie gathers the courage to express her feelings to Trace, the things she dreads occur. However, it doesn't make matters worse; it alters everything profoundly. *WARNING* Book contains language, child loss, trauma, etc. Thank you for choosing my story!
