I dreamed of the moon and the sharp edge of its figure, of the scent of flowers and the dew of the mornings. I knew the name of the darkness; I would call it, and it would come to me. Its name was soft and mysterious, smooth and beautiful. I saw it when I stepped into the shadows, heard it in the rippling of water and the whispers of the seasons' winds. I found it at night as I slept and in the mornings when I woke. It watched over me, even when I didn't want it to. I knew its name, and it knew mine.
