Casting Summer

After years of idolizing Mathew Higgins, the breakout child star the world saw grow up, Summer Barlowe is disappointed when she meets nothing but a self-absorbed bastard.

Summer Barlowe finally gets her first big break playing the main female lead in a new television series, Serenity. But she soon learns there is more to acting than coming in to put your best for the cameras. Her biggest challenge comes in the form of Mathew Higgins, her co-star and love interest on screen. He sees himself as above her and holds her lack of acting background against her ability to put on the best for their show. He considers her a liability.

Summer is determined to prove him wrong. She has never been one to give up or be beaten out of a fight. She intends to keep Mathew on his toes as much as he seems to enjoy keeping her on hers, but rules have to be set. The line between reality and fiction needs to be drawn. No matter her previous infatuations, she will never allow her first acting debut to be clouded by falling for a co-star.

She needs her light to be her light. She wants people to see her talent and not a relationship with anyone. Especially someone as well-known as he is. But as Mathew becomes more and more the man, she remembered him to be, the lines begin to blur.
