The killings are creeping closer to town, fueling growing suspicions and sparking concern among parents. No one knows who this mystery person is-no one has lived to see them. Yet, they were always right under my nose, hiding in plain sight. So close, yet so far from me.

Kailani Gonzalez lives in a small Halloween-themed town, famously known for its elaborate decorations and festivities throughout October. But this year, the
cheerful spirit has been overshadowed by a string of gruesome murders that have shaken the community.

It started with the dairy farmer who lived 10 miles outside of town, found lifeless in his barn. The second victim was a barista at the local coffee shop, her murder sending shockwaves through the heart of the town. From there, the killings have only escalated in frequency and brutality, each crime scene more horrifying than the last.

The killer remains a mystery-no one has seen them, and no clear pattern has emerged. Fear and paranoia grip the town as accusations fly. The police, desperate for answers, are arresting suspects left and right, including some of their own, based on nothing more than vague descriptions and tenuous connections. Lives are being destroyed as the true murderer continues to evade capture, lurking somewhere in the shadows of the town.
