They were like sun and moon, One with a smile that would instantly melt and create warmth within even the coldest of pirates and marines. And one with a frown cold enough to ice over hell itself.

Shanks was always deemed the 'golden retriever' no matter what kind of mood he was in. Meanwhile Mihawk was deemed the 'black cat' even when he showed some form of happiness, even in his own way. The two were polar opposites yet were attracted to each other like magnets.

'He was the light in the dark castle I once isolated myself within.' was the instant response to the question of why he stuck around the red head.

'And he was the darkness within the sea I sailed within.' would also be the response he would throw out whenever asked the same question as to why he tailed after the ravenette.

Yet, everything soon fell apart. The minute that the two reunited once more.
