Fifty years ago, Wukong challenged Nezha and the Celestial Kingdom to a battle. The scale of the fight was so immense that many still call it the "Celestial War." As a major consequence, the eight celestial beasts that supported the sky were destabilized, breaking the balance between the sky, the earth, and the spiritual world. The nine strongest evil spirits escaped from hell and corrupted the eight celestial beasts. Jian Xi is a newly initiated Taoist who lives with his grandfather and his companion Baiji, a talking bipedal pig. They travel the world acquiring knowledge and companions while trying to purify the corrupted celestial beasts and restore the world's balance.
