We have had 'The Wizard of Oz' for white America and 'The Wiz' as a black re-telling of The Wizard of Oz. This story is a Lebanese re-telling with all the makings of a fantasy, some laughs thrown in, and rich allegorical meaning of the soul's journey dealing with the light and shadow self, death, and renewal. Neither Muslim or Christian themes used directly but rather uses some concepts of the camel, lion, and child myth that Nietzsche explored as he saw religion under demise.
