LA COUNTY, 2007. Punk is dead; hip-hop has had its glory days; rhythm and blues made its run and fell along the way. When six major record labels come to the conclusion that industry plants are out‐-and independent artists are in--they decide to join forces to search for and discover the greatest musical act of the twenty-first century. The problem? Not everyone wants risk it all for a bunch of has-beens.

That is, until money talks. When word spreads of a widescale, global battle of the bands, along with a winning prize of over fifteen million dollars and a hot record deal, heads are turned and minds change. And in a significant effort to capture the entire fiasco, four college kids are hired to document it all. For them the results are, unfortunately, unlike ANYTHING ever recorded on film.

But fortunately for us, all we have to do is rock around and find out why...
