In order to prevent a mass slaughter in the city of Alexandria, a marriage is arranged between Emperor Caracalla and Cassia, a distant descendant of Alexandria's own Queen Cleopatra and Rome's Mark Antony. Caracalla sends his most trusted General, Marcus Acacius to Alexandria to fetch his bride. On the journey to the city of Rome, Cassia finds herself dreading her marriage to the Emperor and falling for the General.
