One day, a tall, dark-haired woman appears at Will's cabin. She claims to have lost something in the woods, and, fearing a boar in the area, she asks the Rangers to retrieve it for her. But who is this woman, and what secrets does she hide?
Soon after, Will and Maddie are sent on a new mission: Baron Farrell of Caraway has been murdered. Who killed Farrell? And who is the little girl named Lily, who seems to show up everywhere?

Now Will has to save her, Halt has to keep his mouth shut about Catherine being Will's supposedly late wife and Alyss has to postpone the fact that she has to die by the same thing that was supposed to take her.
